US Route 41 ( USÃ, 41 ) in the US Florida state is the North-south United States Highway. It runs 479 miles (771 km) from Miami in south-west Florida to the northern border of Georgia's Lake City region. In the country, US $ 41 is aligned with Interstate 75 (I-75) all the way from Miami to Georgia (on the northern border), and I-75 has replaced US $ 41 as the main highway.

Like all AASHTO designated highways in Florida, AS 41 always carries a state road number specified as FDOT:

  • State Road 90 from US 1 (SR 5) in Miami to the intersection with 5th Avenue/9th Street/Tamiami Trail north (US 41/SR 45) in Naples.
  • State Road 45 of AS 41 (SR 90) in Naples to intersection with US 441 (SR 25) and North Main Street (CR 236) in High Springs, with the following exceptions:
    • State Road 45A between north and south of US Business terminal 41 (SR 45) in Sarasota District.
    • State Road 684 from the intersection with the southern end of Business 41 US (SR 45) to 44th Avenue Connection in unrelated Manatee Territory.
    • State Road 55 from 44th Avenue Connection to the north end of Business 41 US (SR 45) at Palmetto.
    • State Road 599 from the southern end of 41 US Business ends (SR 45) and SR 676 east near Tampa to US 92 (SR 600) in Tampa.
    • State Road 600 from US 41 south (SR 599 south) to Nebraska Avenue (SR 45 south) in Tampa.
  • State Road 25 from the intersection with US 441 (SR 25), AS 41 (SR 45) and North Main Street (CR 236) in High Springs to the Georgian country line near Jennings.

The concessions include US $ 301 between Bradenton and Palmetto, US $ 92, in Tampa, US $ 98 and SR 50A in Brooksville, SR 44 in Inverness, US $ 27, between Williston and High Springs, US 441 between High Springs and Lake City, and US $ 129 between Hillcoat and Jasper.

According to the AASHTO documentation and FDOT straight line diagram inventory, the 41st AS 41 southern end is located on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, but FDOT has chosen not to sign the last leg of the route past SR 90 since 2000. From there, the route goes hand in hand with SR A1A west, then south along the US 1/SR 5, before meeting the southern terminal signed on Brickell Street.

Route description

Miami to Tampa

Between Miami and Naples, US $ 41 cuts across the Florida peninsula, strolling through the vast Everglades wilderness. This section has been designated as National Scenic Byway. The path swerves east-west through the Big Cypress National Preserve, passing the northern border of Everglades National Park for about 20 miles (32 km). Part of the highway between Tampa and Miami is known as the Tamiami Line (derived from a combination of Tam pa and M iami , both paths end), thus, this part of the path is generally known as the East Trail , as it crosses east-west across the state, in contrast to the reverse route in the north-south. Alligator is a common sight along the beautiful Tamiami Trail from Miami to Naples. Unlike the parallel road, Alligator Alley, the path is only one lane in every direction, and has no fence to keep wildlife from passing through it.

In Naples, US $ 41 is changing direction at the SR 90 hidden intersection and hidden SR 45, turning from west to north towards Tampa, or from south to east toward Miami. This US.14 segment is still considered the Tamiami Trail. US $ 41 has a bypass at Fort Myers that separates from the path, but in the Venetian Area, USÃ, 41 breaks off the trail into the hidden SR 45A, while USÃ, 41 Business uses traces. The I-75 connectors can be found north of the north end of the business route.

The two major US highways end up at US $ 41 in the Sarasota-Bradenton Metropolitan Region. The first is US 301 in Sarasota, which runs straight, while US $ 41 curves westward towards the John Ringling Causeway, only to return north again. To the north of its western tip, CRÃ, 610, stretches along the western edge of Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport where it crosses the Sarasota-Manatee Regency line. Across the airport, this street serves as the New College of Florida address, and then the Sarasota/Manatee College of South Florida University. In Bradenton, US $ 41 makes a sharp turn eastward to SR 684 at the US intersection.14 Business. The road curves north towards SR 55 and meets US 301 again, and shares a short concurrency by walking across the Manatee River. US $ 301 made a sharp right turn to SR 43 at the diamond intersection, while AS 41 continued north. Right after the exchange with the north end of Business 41 US in Memphis, another exchange exists with the southern end of US $ 301 there. Here, US 41 rejoice hidden SR 45, while hidden SR 55 moves to US 19, where it will remain until it reaches Perry. The remaining US $ 41 trip will continue along the east coast of Tampa Bay.

Tampa to Lutz

From US $ 41 Business and SR 676 near Palm River-Clair Mel unrelated to US $ 92 in Tampa, US $ 41 carrying an unsigned SR = 599 marking. It contains the northwest end of the Tamiami Trail at the intersection of SRÃ,60. Usually three lanes are wide, but between I-4 and the northern end of SR 569 only two wide lanes. An undocumented country highway is 5.6 miles (9.0 km) long. At the north end, US $ 41 turns west. (If one continues straight, 40th Street leads to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.) Major intersections include Lee Roy Selmon Expressway (SR 618), SR 60, I-4, SR 583, SR 569, and SR 574. US. 41 runs west along US $ 92 (Hillsborough Avenue) for a few blocks, and after doing so, share the SR 600 as a hidden route. One of the other major intersections is with SR 585, before walking along the southern boundary of the Hampton Terrace Historic District where it veers north to Nebraska Avenue (SR 45) shortly before approaching I-275 at Exit 47 A-B. While not every marked junction along Nebraska Avenue provides access to I-275, many of them. Initially, it passed Old Seminole Heights where it remained along the border of the Hampton Terrace Historic District to the crossroads of Hanna Avenue. The only other intersection that goes through the main road in the area is Sligh Avenue, which leads to Exit 48 on I-275 to the west. The road leaves Old Seminole Heights by crossing the Nebraska Avenue Bridge built in 1923 over the Hillsborough River and into Sulfur Springs, where one can find sites like the Springs Theater on the corner of Sitka Street and on the opposite side, former Tampa Greyhound Track between Birds Street and Waters Avenue. When the road will leave Sulfur Springs, a concrete median begins before US $ 41 crossing another railway line along a road that crosses along the southern side of SR 580 (Busch Boulevard). Furthermore, this is the main north-south road through North Tampa, other than I-275.

The West of the University of South Florida, US 41 cuts off major roads such as State Road 582 (Fowler Avenue) and then blocks north across SR 579/CR 582A (Fletcher Avenue). Further north, the SR-CR 678 is the last chance for motorists to access I-275. Following this, curves curve to the northwest as it begins running along the western side of the Brooksville CSX Subdivision, and both share an underpass without access to I-275. Entering Lutz, a class crossing with the northern end of BUS US 41 (Hidden SR 685), is where US 41 becomes a six-lane width. Most intersections outside this point are only local interests. Nevertheless, US 41 crosses the Brooksville Subdivision on a sharp diagonal crossing, and both curve to the right, where both run straight north through the rest of Lutz. From this point, it runs along the eastern side of the Brooksville Subdivision, both of which run straight north in most societies. Shortly after passing the historic Ancient Lutz Elementary School on the east side, he found a traffic signal with the eastern end of Lutz-Lake Fern Road (CR 582 unmarked) on the west side. Replicas of the former Lutz Air Force Railway Depot Railway can be found in the northwest corner between the railroad and the local library. The farther north to the US run, the more likely the streets are and the private roads, some of which are on the opposite side of the railroad tracks. The road curved to the northwest before intersecting with County Line Road at Hillsborough-Pasco County Line and entering Land O 'Lakes, where it was named Land O' Lakes Boulevard across the county.

Pasco County

The US 41 stays just north-west until it meets the north end of State Road 597 (Dale Mabry Highway) and after turning straight north past some nudist colonies, it almost instantaneously intersects SR 54. Almost a mile (1.6 km) north of the point that, Brooksville branches divide the banks to the northwest, while the US prepares to squeeze among the lakes called the village. North of County Road 583 (Ehren Cutoff) in the former Denham community, the road narrows to four lanes but is still divided as it curves to the northwest. Here, the road crosses the former right of the road to the railroad that runs between Tarpon Springs and Trilby until the mid-1970s. The road turned north again and then passed the recently expanded Land O 'Lakes High School. The newly expanded section serves as two gates for Conerton Conner's under construction, and has been scheduled to become the future of CR 524 (Ridge Road Extension). Right after that, the gateway to Tierra Del Sol's underdeveloped development is where the highway division ends, although US 41 is still in the process of being widened across the outskirts of the northern Tampa Bay. Most of the surrounding area includes a dog seat, and the ranch is broken, though the road to Pasco County Jail, with a fire extinguisher in the northeast corner stands out amongst the usual surroundings. After making another right curve and squeezing between two small lakes, US 41 approached the Land O 'Lakes section known as the Gower Corner, where the intersection of SR 52 can be found. Just east of Gower Corner is the Pilot Country Airport, a local airport community.

In addition to some other motels and random businesses, most of the area around the road consists of farmland, this time, much more active. Near the former wood base, US 41 crosses Brooksville Subdivision again, and local automotive and trucking shops can be found in the northeast corner of the intersection. Continuing north, the road met sites like the Detroit Resort Motel and shortly after this walked along the western edge of the Pasco Lake Plantation community where he walked along the former road known as Old Gainesville Highway and Pasco Lake Drive. An old narrow bridge across a dry river can be found to the north of this development. By the time the road reaches Masaryktown South the number of farm fields begins to decrease. Several small trailer parks, private homes and even some small businesses appeared along the side of the road, but the farms did not completely stay away from the road until after crossing the narrow bridge over the Masaryktown Canal. Just north of the Bowman Road intersection, the west side of the road has a rather large trailer park and private homes in front of a wide avenue for the south path forward. This right path ends at Hernando-County Road 578, another County Road Road in Masaryktown, and US 41 becomes Broad Street.

Hernando County

In Masaryktown, US 41 stays two wide lanes and serves as a main street, which includes several private small motels and restaurants known as Cafe Masaryktown, at the intersection of blinker lights. Before the intersection of County Road 576, the road widened into four more lanes, and then entered Garden Grove, where it served as the eastern edge of Hernando County Airport. After the airport property ended, he cut County Road 574 (Spring Hill Boulevard), and then widened to six lanes almost half way before approaching County Road 572 (Powell Road). Near downtown Brooksville, US 41 Cut SR 50/US Truck Route 98, and quietly take the SR 700 with it. SR 700 is exposed further north because it branched out to the northwest near the former Brooksville Hospital site. US 41 then narrows into two lanes, curving to the east and being a one-way street that coincides with the South S.S route. 98 and SR 50A to the east. At the intersection of North Mildred Avenue, east of SR 50A, US 41 and US 98 simultaneously on Broad Street, while the western SR 50A, AS 41, and US 98 coincide along East Jefferson Avenue, then West Jefferson Avenue. The one-way configuration for Broad Street and Jefferson Street has been in effect since November 1993, according to the Florida Department of Transport. While both segments up and down a steep hill in the heart of the city, the Broad Street section (eastward) stretches over an old bridge built in 1936. Two Main Street intersections (CR 445, former SR 45A) also contain the Hernando County Courthouse in the eastern corner sea while "eastbound" AS 41/US 98/SR 50A, "and southeast corner of" westbound "US 41/98/SR 50A.After both segments fell to one last hill, US 98/SR 50A left US 41 on East Jefferson Street near May Avenue, and the US 41 became a two-lane highway that fell to a steep hill before curving north again where he cut County Road 484 at a red light crossing and climbed another one.It remained a two-lane highway through the rest of Hernando County. The hill is down again because it runs between the trailer park on the north side, and the Brooksville school complex on the south side, both of which are in the southeast corner and southwest of CR 480 (Croom Ro ad) respectively. i end of CR 445 (Howell Avenue), but soon became the southern end of Old Crystal River Road, which despite its name did not lead to Crystal River, assuming that it ever happened. The rest of the route becomes more rural, as it travels to some preserved land. Less private land can be found north of the southern end of CR 481 near Lake Lindsey. North of CR 476, US 41 runs through a portion of the Forlacoochee Forest State where it stays through the Hernando-Citrus County Line, and gets the name of South Florida Avenue.

Citrus County via Marion County

Citrus County

After leaving the forest, the road remains almost rural as it spends much of its time in Southern Citrus County as the same two-lane road in northern Hernando County that travels up and down hills. As the road drew nearer to Downtown Floral City, it began along the western side of the Withlacoochee State Trail, a former Coastway Railroad Atlantic line that was converted into a railway shortly after being abandoned by CSX in 1987. The western edge of County Road 48 is where the US 41 also began to include parts of the DeSoto Trail . Meanwhile, Withlacoochee State Trail continues along the east side of the road, often behind the backyard of local businesses and vacant lots. The only resemblance of the main intersection in this area is County Road 39A, the route ending from the former State Road 39 segment.

At some point, the road extends to a four-lane highway. The same local business type continues to flank either side of the road up the road into Inverness Highlands South where Citrus County Speedway and Inverness Airport can be seen on the west side. On the opposite side of this landmark, Fort Cooper State Park is only accessible from Withlacoochee State Trail, until the road enters the Inverness city limits where it extends to six lanes. As the road rises slightly in class and curves to the left, it approaches concurrency with SR 44 which also includes a local highway shared by Highland Boulevard at this intersection. From there, US 41/SR 44 descends along lightweight on the western shore of Lake Cooter, then winds around the Old Citrus Courthouse and then the Inverness Masonic Temple and at the intersection of Seminole Avenue suddenly turns westward. Concurrency ends at Wye intersection west of Tallmadge Avenue, when SR 44 leads directly to Crystal River, while US 41 branches off to northwest to North Florida Avenue. The first intersection after this is Davidson Avenue, which is part of County Road 581. It then dips into a hotel at the junction of Montgomery Avenue and curves to the right as it replaces the alignment of the road. This road runs along the eastern edge of Whispering Pines Park while climbing another hill with a shopping center at the base of the embankment and down again towards the entrance of Inverness Secondary School on the same side, and a small industrial park on the other side.

Just before leaving the city limits of Inverness, the Withlacoochee State Trail crosses under US 41 and runs along the west side of the road. The trail can be seen again on the west side of the road, just south of East Arlington Street near Inverness Highlands North, and remains along the side of the road, even though the trail is slightly further north of East Van Ness Street. On the opposite side of the road, the former Air Line Railway Seaboard right of the road follows US 41, although it is no longer visible until further north. Nevertheless, US 41 and trail still remain close enough to each other as they enter Hernando Town. Here, the road serves as the eastern end of County Road 486, a shortcut to the Crystal River for traffic to the south. When the road approached the shore of one of Tsala Apopka's lakes, 200 branches of State Road to the northeast to Ocala, Jacksonville, and Fernandina Beach while US 41 continued to the northwest. From here the road is a little further away from Withlacoochee State Trail, but the line is still close enough to the road. Meanwhile, the previously mentioned SAL line becomes more visible. The road curved northward and down the hill towards Holder, where it met the only major intersection; County Road 491. From there it curved northwest again, and flowed through Citrus Springs

The first intersection of Citrus Springs Boulevard is not the last place where the Withlacoochee State Trail. and used SAL lines can be found on both sides, but this is the last place where trailheads can be found near the road. In the north there are areas that have more pine trees, but both roads can still be seen on each side. Stalemate for the construction of housing that was never built can be seen in the former railroad tracks. The Withlacoochee State trail is moving away from US 41 for the last time south of the second intersection with Citrus Springs Boulevard, which is the gateway to Citrus Springs. US 41 becomes wide enough for turning lanes on both sides and has traffic signals not previously owned. In the north, the former SAL ROW is still visible, although much of it is still forested, although there is little opening as it curves straight north. Deep in another unfinished development on the west side of the road, the trail ends, but part of the name is encountered again on the west end of County Road 39 (Withlacoochee Trail), a former State Road 39 segment, which now ends all roads east of Pasco County. The road curved northwest for the last time as he left Citrus County, passing through several small industrial estates and a local youth athletic park.

After climbing the embankment for the bridge over the Florida North Railway to Crystal River 3 Nuclear Power Plant, US 41 intercepts County Road 488 then curved northeast while approaching the Brittan Alexander Bridge over the Withlacoochee River to enter Dunnellon and turn into Williams Street. The northern end of the bridge contains City Hall and the city-run boat ramp on the northwest side, and the motel/restaurant/canoe & amp; kayak dock on the northeast side. Almost immediately, US 41 enters Dunnellon's Boomtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places and includes the former Coast Line Railroad Atlantic depot serving the line now used for the previously mentioned nuclear power plant at Crystal River. In the same district to the north of the station is the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue, which is County Roads 40/336 to the west and County Road 484 to the east. From here, US 41 also serves as a convergence not so hidden with State Road 40.

The northern part of US city 41/SR 40 enters Chatmar, then Rainbow Falls, and then Rainbow Lakes Estates, which is where the head entrance to Rainbow Springs State Park can be found. Just north of that point, the SR 40 breaks out to the northeast on the way to Ocala, Silver Springs, and Ormond Beach while the US continues north by itself. The last significant intersection was County Road 328 in Romeo, before the road crossed into Levy County.

Levy County via Alachua County

Levy County>

As with many state and county roads in Levy County, US 41 runs along farmland disturbed by forest areas, and cuts with many other dirt and rural roads. These roads include County Road 545 along the border, County Road 464, which is the final alternative to State Road 464 in Marion County, and at Morriston, County Road 326, the extension of the bi-county State Road 326. The road begins to curve straight north before entering the town of Williston, where the rural environment continues. Without the city boundary marks, drivers will find it hard to believe that they are in Williston until the road approaches the entrance to Williston City Airport. Outside the airport, State Road 121 joins US 41 at a junction divided by CR 316, which previously overlapped with SR 121 from the southwest. The rural environment in southern Levy County does not begin to diminish until the intersection of Southwest Seventh Avenue. Right after Southwest First Avenue, a wide turnaround at the intersection takes drivers to the United States 41/SR 121 to US Alt 27 (SR 500), and shares short concurrency in the city until US Alt 27 ends at US 27. SR 500 continues southeast as the US Hidden Route 27 and other US Routes when heading to Ocala, Orlando, Kissimmee and Indiatlantic, while US 41, and SR 121 turn north along 27 US. Shortly after the merger of US 27 and 41, SR 121 broke out to the northeast and took the DeSoto Trail with him.

The 27/41 US concordance remained only two wide lanes, and began to shift northwest to shift slightly north before approaching Archer, where it cut CR 346, then the former Florida Railway and Navigation Company on the right of the road, and finally State Road 24. After SR 24, US 27/41 curved northwest but headed north through State Road 26 on Newberry and both remained that way until US $ 41 reached High Springs, where US $ 27 made a left turn to State Road 20 to Perry , Tallahassee and Havana, while US 41 briefly became independent before joining US 441 toward Lake City and heading north. The US junction 441 serves as the northern end of the hidden State Road 45, and the southern end of CR 236, and the road is reunited with the DeSoto Trail where it will remain until it reaches Lake City..

Colombian

US 41/441 crosses the Santa Fe River then runs north past O'Leno State Park and River Rise Preserve State Park, nearby that share a short concurrency with the extension of county State Road 18. It then runs through Ellsville, where it has another exchange with I-75 (Exit 414), just south of the west end of State Road 238.

Approaching Lake City, US 441 separates from AS 41 to State Road 25A in the south of the city. The route remains parallel, and at some point Route 41 is followed by State Road 47 which is signed as ending at US 41. However, this concurrency only lasts until the junction of State Road 10A, where SR 47 turns east for the block before joining US 441. Block next is US Route 90, where the DeSoto Trail leads west, and State Road 100 joins AS 41 to the north of Lake City.

Before leaving the Lake City limits, the US 41 curve to the northwest runs parallel to the Southern Railroad and Florida Georgia trails. Since it also carries two hidden state roads at this point, it serves as an end to the suffixed alternatives of both routes, although Columbia County alternates alternately. The first is County Road 100A (Northwest Bascom Norris Drive), and further north, outside the city on County Road 25A (Northwest Valdosta Road), which is an extension of 25A State State Road. Since the parallel railway line along the east side, the intersection with Interstate 10 is a pair of quarter pioneer ramps in the southwest corner and northwest of the underpass. The construction of the exchange itself forced the relocation of CR 131 (Northwest Falling Creek Road), which ended in 41 US to the north of the intersection. Slightly further north, the road serves as the WCJX address (106.5 FM). From here walk through small towns like Winfield and Suwannee Valley. The last significant intersection in Columbia County is CR 246 (Lassie Black Road).

Hamilton County to Georgia State Line

Cross Ed Scott Bridge across the Suwannee River to Hamilton County, Florida US 41 entering White Springs, Florida, where he escapes from the GSF railway line and turns west to Spring Street. Here the road serves as the southern end of CR 135, and while walking through the White Springs Historic District serves as the eastern end of State Road 136, before turning straight north again to Roberts Street, and walking along the western edge of town. The last suffix route from the hidden SR 25 can be found on Camp Street as CR 25A, but the route is not reunited with its parent way. When leaving the city back to the same side of the GSF railway line at the beginning, the two will travel through an unrelated community of Facil where it meets the southern end of CR 137. The northwest from there, it runs through the Occidental, and then Genoa where it serves as the eastern end of CR 132. Beyond that, it runs through a strip mining area where the only other community is a Fixed Camp, but after passing Hillcoat, which the northern tip of CR 137 can be found, US 41 joins US 129 as well as the hidden SR 51. The overlapping route runs quickly north before making a curve on the left side of Roberts Pond and Shaky Pond before entering Jasper City. US 41/129/SR 100 turns west to State Road 6 (Hatley Street), which becomes County Road 6 on the east of the intersection, while the SR 51 is hidden into County Road 51 (Second Avenue Northeast) north of the same intersection.

After Fifth Avenue, the road begins to curve to the northwest, and by 15th Avenue, concurrency with US 129 ends when the road moves toward over the northwest corner, taking a hidden SR 100 with it. SR 6 and US 41 returns straight west while leaving town until CR 148 (Northwest 86th Boulevard), where they begin to curve northwest again. Shortly after this curve, as well as another bridge over the Alapaha River, concurrency with SR 6 ends. SR 6 leads southwest to I-75 and Madison, while US 41 curves further northwest. The only other intersection to the north of the point appears to be CR 152, though further north in Jennings, the road briefly overlaps with CR 141, but the overlap ends at the eastern end of State Road 143 whose junction is divided by CR 141. the US 41 serves as part of the Jennings border, the northernmost community along the route in the state. Northwest Ninth Street and Oak Street are officially the last intersections with US 41 in the state before the road crosses Georgia State Line, ending the hidden SR 25, and replacing it with Georgia State Route 7.

History

The US 41 first entered Florida as far back as 1926, ending in Naples. The former US 41 sections include US 441 from High Springs via Gainesville to Ocala, and SR 40 from Ocala to Rainbow Lakes Estates, and US 301 from Sarasota to Bradenton. In 1950, US 41 was extended eastward to Miami alongside the former US Route 94.

From 1956 to 1993, 41 US markings in Florida featured white numbering on orange shields. The "US Color" color coding by the Florida Transportation Department was stopped when the state no longer used Federal funds to replace the mark with anything but the standard black-and-white version. Some 41 orange oranges may still be present.
