Short Vacation is a term coined by the Vancouver Short Stay Apts company. Inc. in 2002 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Edwin and Mrs. Jeanne Pennell. It describes a fully furnished apartment that is rented for a short period of time, usually per month compared to the annual rent in the rental market of an apartment without furniture. They are seen as an alternative hotel. Apartments will vary from studio apartments to luxury apartments. Short Stay rentals are part of the corporate housing market. Popular uses include vacation rentals, and relocation.
This industry is seen as the most affordable option for a month-long stay, and maybe 25-50% cheaper than a hotel room. Some companies allow pets. Some of the expected booking procedures are credit checks, damage and deposit deposit, and departure clearance fees. Some tenants find that online photos and descriptions are misleading, contact with the company in question is strongly advised.
The development of short-term leases may affect people in areas looking for long-term rentals. Through short-term leases, landlords can make up more than 20% more than rental-controlled properties. So landlords convert their properties into short-term rental units, and there are long-term housing options available for permanent residents.
