The city Puertecitos is located 90 kilometers south of San Felipe, in the Mexican state of Baja California. Puertecitos is a tourist place for tourists and expats from the United States. The Bay of Puertecitos, permanently completed in 1949 by Rafael Orozco, overlooks the Gulf of California. There are several hundred homes and mobile homes in Puertecitos, most of them lying on low hills overlooking California Bay on the east side, and the interior of the Puertecitos on the west side.
Puertecitos receive an average of two inches of rain per year, and have a similar climate with San Felipe.
Puertecitos is known primarily for its hot springs and a tourist destination. No hotel and gas accommodation is not always available at Puertecitos Pemex station. It is advisable to fill with gas in San Felipe before driving to Puertecitos. There are many different places to camp. Bahia Cristina's, located 6.4 kilometers (4.0 miles) south has a restaurant. Bahia Encantada does not have a restaurant but it has running water and a nice bay with calm water.
The best time to visit Puertecitos is in spring or autumn.
