Flores Island is a small island (about 155º, kmÃ,²) at Clayoquot Sound, off the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

The area of ​​Marktosis (population around 900) holds the only major settlement on the island. Most of the population is a member of the Ahousaht (population around 2000) and forms the largest part of Nuu-chah-nulth or Nootka First Nation. Some native languages ​​spoken though English is very dominant.

Located within the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, Flores has one of the largest tracts of adjoining old woods on Vancouver Island. 41Ã, kmÃ,² the island has been designated as Flores Island Marine Island Park, 1.43 km² is Gibson Marine Provincial Park where the hot springs are located on the southern edge of Matilda Inlet, reservation of Marktosis is 1.2 km² and the rest is Tanah Mahkota.

Flores Island was named in 1791 by Francisco de Eliza, in honor of Manuel Antonio FlÃÆ'³rez, the 51st Spanish viceroy.

The main industry is fishing with some tourism. Tourism is promoted through hiking trails 'Walk the Wild Side' and the addition of accommodation at Aauuknuck Lodge. The cow bay on the west side of the Island has been voted one of the top ten beaches in Canada.

The island can be reached by water taxi or seaplane from Tofino.
