Nuevo Arenal is the city and district of Canton TilarÃÆ'¡n in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. The city is located on the north-east coast of Lake Arenal. The former village of Arenal near La Fortuna area was flooded in 1978 with the formation of Arenal Artificial Lake. Nuevo Arenal is a government project to relocate abandoned people. Nuevo Arenal is located about an hour's drive northwest from the original village along the picturesque lakeside path from La Fortuna to Tilaran.
It's connected via the road to Tejona and Tilarà ± n along Route 142. A few miles southeast is the Arenal Botanical Garden. Arenal Botanical Gardens rarely opened again.
Hotel Los HÃÆ'Â © roes is one of the main hotels about 10 km east of Nuevo Arenal. There are several bed and breakfasts in the suburbs, the most famous being Chalet Nicholas and Villa de Cary. The city has a famous German and Italian restaurant, a pizza place called Moya, there is also a new Organic Food Shop called La Farmacia Organica on the main highway across the street from Casa Paniagua Restaurant between the German Bakery and the only fuel station in the area.
