Jacob's Well is a timeless spring of karstic in Texas Hill Country that flows from the bed of Cypress Creek, located northwest of Wimberley, Texas. This spring is located in the Jacob Well Nature (JWNA) Nature Area property, which is run by the County Hays Garden Department. The visitor entrance for JWNA is located at 1699 Mt. Sharp Road, Wimberley, TX 78676. The 12-foot (3.7 m) diameter mouth of the spring serves as a popular local swimming spot. From the opening at the bottom of the river, Jacob's cave drops vertically about 30 feet (9.1 m), then continues down at an angle through a series of mud spaces separated by narrow restrictions, eventually reaching an average depth of 120 feet (37 feet). m). Until the modern era, the artesian fountain was sewn by a natural fountain from the cave's mouth, with a flow measured in 1924 from 170 US gallons per second (640 L/sec), using 6 feet (1.8 m) into the air.

Due to developments in the area, the Aquifer Trinity level has declined to affect the flow of water through Jacob's Well. In the modern era, what remains visible from springs is a faint ripple on the surface of Cypress Creek. The spring stopped flowing for the first time in recorded history in 2000, again stopped flowing in 2008. This resulted in ongoing action to address local water conservation and quality. Hays County bought 50 hectares (20 ha) of land around Jacob's Well in 2010, in an effort to protect the spring from development. An additional thirty-one hectares were transferred to the area from the Natural Area of Yah close to Jacob (currently managed by the Wimberley Valley Watershed Association (WVWA)), a new, eighty acre (32 hectares) called Westridge Tract.

This system has been explored and mapped by the cave divers of the Jacob Well Exploration Project and has been proven to consist of two main channels. One aisle measures approximately 4,500 feet (1,400 m) from the surface and the secondary extends about 1,000 feet (300 m) in length from the point where it diverges from the main channel.

The cave is also an attraction for open water divers, some of whom are inexperienced with the techniques and special equipment used in diving caves, which have caused eight deaths on this site between 1964 and 1984 (seven men and one woman).
