Architectural history and design
The modern Sants station was built in the 1970s as part of the construction of the first east-west line that runs below the center of Barcelona. Over the last 30 years, Estación de Sants has since passed the earlier FranÃÆ'§a terminology (Barcelona EstaciÃÆ'³ de FranÃÆ'§a), from the 1920s, as Barcelona's main train station.
The station is built with modern airport style, with all its many platforms underground. A hotel (BarcelÃÆ'³ Sants Hotel) occupies most of the upper floors of the main building of the station.

Location
The station is located in the Sants-MontjuÃÆ'¯c district of Barcelona, ​​just a little to the west of the city center, and easily accessible via metro (see below) or buses from anywhere in the city.
