The Washington, DC is a historic hotel located on 515 15th Street NW (between Pennsylvania Avenue and F Street) in downtown Washington, DC. Opened in 1918 as the Washington Hotel . It is operated by W Hotels.

Designed by architectural firm CarrÃÆ'¨re and Hastings, a ten-story hotel, Beaux-Arts is the only commercial building designed by a firm in Washington, DC The Washington Hotel construction was completed in 1918. Its facade features cream-colored sgraffito in reddish-brown ground.
Washington Hotel was listed in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1995; In addition, this building is a property that contributes to Financial District Fifteenth Street Financial, registered in NRHP in 2006, and Pennsylvania Avenue National Historic Site.
After a major renovation by Nakheel Properties, the owner of the building since 2006, the W-317 Hotel opened in 2008, operated by Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

In popular culture
The hotel was spotted in the movies Contact and The Firm . The roof terrace is visible in the movies of The Godfather Part II and No Way Out . Frank Murphy and John Nance Garner live there.
