Hanasaku Iroha ( ?????? , lit. "ABC Flower Bloom" or "The Blooming Colors ") , or Hanairo for short, is a 26-episode Japanese anime television series produced by PAWorks and directed by Masahiro Ando. Screenplay written by Mari Okada, with original character design by Mel Kishida. P.A.Works produces the project as a tenth studio anniversary. The anime aired between April and September 2011 and has two manga adaptations created. An animated film was released in Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013.

Plot
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Eito Chida, serialized between December 2010 and October 2012 editions of Square Enix magazine Gangan Joker. Square Enix publishes five volume tank and bon between March 22, 2011 and December 22, 2012. Manga spin-off with Minko Tsurugi as main character, illustrated by Jun Sasameyuki and titled Hanasaku Iroha: Green Girls Graffiti , is serialized in Bandai Visual online magazine Comic Web Gekkin between July 1, 2011 and July 2, 2012. Two volumes of Green Girl Graffiti were released between December 10, 2011 and 10 July 2012.
Anime
The Hanasaku Iroha 26-episode anime television series was produced by P.A.Works and directed by Masahiro Ando. The series aired in Japan between April 3 and September 25, 2011 at Tokyo MX. This screenplay was written by Mari Okada, and main animator Kanami Sekiguchi based on the character design used in the anime on Mel Kishida's original design. The voice direction is headed by Jin Aketagawa and the music is produced by Shir? Hamaguchi. The anime series is broadcast in the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, The Netherlands, Brazil and Portugal by the Crunchyroll Internet streaming website. The series has been licensed in North America by NIS America under the title Hanasaku Iroha: Blossoms for Tomorrow . The first Blu-ray/DVD combo package was released on April 9, 2013 and the second part was released on July 2, 2013.
An anime film titled "I Love Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home" was released in Japanese theaters on March 30, 2013, featuring the original storyline. At Anime Expo 2013, NIS America announced the right to distribute the film in North America.
Music
A picture track titled "Patricia" ( ????? , Patorishia ) by Nano Ripe is used for promotional and anime videos; The single was released on September 22, 2010 by Lantis. The other promotional videos feature "Yumeji" ( "," Dreaming ") by Nano Ripe. For the first 13 episodes, the opening theme song is "Hana no Iro" ( ????? , "The Color of a Flower") by Nano Ripe, and the main cover theme is "Hazy" by Sphere. For episode 14 onwards, the opening theme is Omokage Warp , "Trace Warp") by Nano Ripe, while the closing theme is "Hanasaku Iroha" ( ??????? , " Blossom Color ") by Clammbon. Nano Ripe provides several more closing theme songs: "Tsukikage to Buranko" ( ??????? , "Swing with the Moonlight") for episode 6, "Yumeji" for episodes 8 and 26, "Saib? Reception
The series received generally positive reviews. Mania praised Kanae It's sound as Ohana, animation quality, and plot execution. However the reviewer commented that the beginning was not new or innovative. Anime News Network praises the realism and quality in animation, scores, and opening and ending theme music. The character designs are noted to be attractive but subtle enough to maintain realism, and also note how Ohana designs are much better than moe clones. When character personalities evolve, reviewers highly praise the realistic interactions between them as they are touching and substantial. Ohana's relationship with her mother and grandmother was very well written with a frightening emotion. After reviewing the second half of the series, reviewers consider Hanasaku Iroha to be one of the best titles of 2011. Many fans of this series have visited the real-life setting of Yuwaku Hot Spring in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. Before the 2011 T-hsu earthquake and tsunami, all nine hotels were fully booked by anime fans, but 1,500 guests canceled their reservations after the disaster. Hanasaku Iroha received the Jury Selection award at the 15th Japanese Arts Arts Entertainment Animation division.
